How do I create an institution?

  • Navigate to My Institution > Institution Profile tab and click the buttons (one at a time): 
    • Add institution summary 
    • Describe your institution
    • Add contact information for investors
    • Set organization email
  • Fill out the fields in the dialogs that appear.
  • Click on Save or Submit

An Institution is a parent entity which manages Fund(s). An Institution can be a bank, Savings and Loan organization, insurance company, registered investment company, investment adviser or other entity.

 

My Institution > Institution Profile tab allows an Institutional Investor to create and update the Institution Profile which consists of:

  • Institution Summary, or a high-level overview of your company with the Institution Name, Company Logo, Full Address, Start Date, Type of Institution, Number of Employees, Company Website, and Social Media Links – LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook (see the screenshot below)
  • Description of Your Institution, or qualitative information about your institution, product, markets and customers 
  • Investment Professionals defined on the Management Team tab 
  • Contact Information for Investors to get in touch with you: an email address and phone number
  • Organization Email Address (not visible to investors) 

To create an institution, please follow the steps below: 

  1. Navigate to My Institution > Institution Profile tab and click buttons (outlined in red in the screenshot below): 
    • Add institution summary 
    • Describe your institution
    • Add contact information for investors 
    • Set organization email (read more in the section that follows) 
  2. Fill out the fields in the dialogs that appear.
  3. Click the Save or Submit button. 

 

Setting an organization email 

For iownit Compliance to review and approve your Institution, you must provide a unique organization email with an organization email domain (e.g. not hotmail). Please make sure the organization email is different from your personal email that you provided during your registration. You will receive an email to the organization email address to activate your account.
