How do I grant or revoke joint account rights?

Only the primary account holder (i.e., a person who created the joint account) is permitted to change permission for joint account members.

  • Navigate to My Portfolios, click on a Portfolio, then click the Settings button in the top right-hand corner of the page.
  • In the Joint Account Holders table, click the Full Discretion ON/OFF switch next to a joint account holder.

If you need more information, please read the detailed answer below.

There are two rights for joint account members: Full Discretion and View Only.

  • Full Discretion: a joint account member is able to perform any possible trading activities (invest on primary market, buy and sell on secondary).
  • View Only: a joint account member is not able to perform any possible trading activities (invest on primary market, buy and sell on secondary).

By default, the permission is set as View Only. It is possible to change the permission only if the user is activated (i.e., approved by a Compliance Officer).

Only the primary account holder (i.e., a person who created the joint account) is permitted to:

  • Change permission for joint account members
  • Edit portfolio information (portfolio name, invite joint account members, perform any actions with joint account members, bank account information)

The primary account holder can be changed only by a Compliance Officer.

To grant or revoke joint account rights:

  • Navigate to My Portfolios, click on a Portfolio, then click the Settings button in the top right-hand corner of the page.
  • In the Joint Account Holders table, click the Full Discretion ON/OFF switch next to a joint account holder.

The switch is available only to users that have accepted the invitation to join the account.
